Armour Studies

Did some sketching a little while back from photos of women in full armour. Not only is it good practise to study realistic reproductions of armour so you can create more realistic concepts in future - it's cool to draw girls in armour that isn't a metal bikini!

Have been recently interested in blogs like repair-her-armor.tumblr.com/ - that point out the ridiculousness of some of the armour designs for women in games these days are. They have artists paint over the images to give the women more logical designs. It's something I find really interesting to analyse, and will try to keep it in mind with my work in future.

(PS: Also yes I know I posted a horrific monster design yesterday with 6 pairs of boobs. The difference though I think is that she's not supposed to look sexual in nature, and she's not wearing armour that is revealing and counter intuitive, she's a gory monster made up of  naked flesh from both guys and girls. Does that make sense or am I being a hypocrite? Let me know if I'm wrong!)
